A face lifting will lift and tighten the skin on your cheeks and neck. This surgery procedure does not include any lifting of the upper or lower eyelids or on the area of the forehead and around the mouth. Correction of these areas is subject to separate surgery procedures.

During a facelift the incisions are placed in the hairline, starting at the temples, continuing down in front of the earlobe, behind the ear and curve back into the hairline on the back of your head.

This method will tighten not only the skin but also the deeper layers (double lift) and will remove excessive pockets of fat . Proper technique and skilful performance will lower the risks significantly . Post surgical infections or bleedings are seldom. Healing might take longer if the patient is a heavy smoker.

An overnight stay in the clinic of 2-3 days is required. Possible swelling and bruising will disappear within 2-3 weeks after surgery.

Facelifts are usually being performed on patients who have reached the age of 40. On younger patients a cheek lifting that involves only the upper area of the facelift (so-called “mini – or s-lifting”), will be sufficient.

This surgery procedure requires that the patient should be in generally good health, with no tendency to high blood pressure (not higher than 160/90) or bleeding. Prior to surgery the patient should avoid any excessive exposure to the sun and at least 2 weeks before surgery should not take any medications or pills containing pain killing or blood thinning substances, especially Aspirin, as they will increase the bleeding tendency and harm the healing process.

If medication is needed, we recommend one that contains the substance Paracetamol. Female patients should schedule the surgery after their menstruation period. It is also required that smokers quit two weeks before surgery.
