The so-called Gynecomastia , i.e. feminine breasts on men, is a local accumulation of fatty and/or glandular trissue underneath the areola.
Reasons for this condition can be an excessive hormonal stimulation during adolescence, certain medications or food supplements (e.g. medications to lower high blood pressure, anabolic steroids, hormonal preparations, etc.).
In such cases we speak about a symmetricalgynecomastia.
If only one breast is concerned in seldom cases the reason for a growth of the breasts could be a pathological deformation such as cancer.
A rapid and symmetrical growth of the breasts could be caused by a tumor of the testicles. There could be many reasons for a gynecomastia . In most of the cases however this conditions is harmless.
To be sure about the condition and prior to undergoing a liposuction of the breasts, the patient should consult a specialist, i.e. urologist, endocrinologist or physician for internal medicine.
We perform the procedure under general anesthesia as it would be very uncomfortable to the patient to inject local anesthetics into the gland of the breast or the surrounding fatty tissue.
An ultrasonic liposuction cannula will break up the scarred fatty- and glandular tissue and remove the liquated material. A thin drainage strip will be inserted and a self adhesive surgical bandage will be applied for 2 weeks in order to protect the nipples from slipping off.
Following before and after photographs are showing only aesthetic-plastic surgery procedures.
These photographs do not show corrections or treatments related to any pathological deformations.
